One of the biggest and most common complaints I receive from The Bat!
users I support that previously used Netscape Communicator 4., Netscape
6.x or 7.x, or Mozilla 1.x, is that there is no single key command to
read the next unread message. In The Bat! you need to use Ctrl+] to read
the next unread message (a two key command). These users were familiar
with pressing 'n' to proceed to the next unread message.
In The Bat! when I click View | Edit Shortcuts or press ALT+F12 to open
the Shortcuts Editor, I noticed there is an option to change the next
unread message behavior:
Shortcuts Editor
-Preview Pane Pop-Up
-Move to Next Unread Ctrl+]
-Move to Previous Unread Ctrl+[
However, when I try to change the key command for Move to Next Unread,
it will not only accept the letter 'n' for the shortcut. The shortcut
only accept the Ctrl + Shift + Alt key combinations.
Is it currently possible to change the 'Move to Next Unread' Ctrl+]
shortcut behavior to only the letter 'n'?
I am including this type of information in my detailed 'How to
convert to The Bat! from Netscape/Mozilla' for the users who are wanting
to get away from Netscape or Mozilla and already know that Microsoft's
e-mail clients (Outlook and Outlook Express, aka Viruslook and Virus
Express) are not an option.
