Hi folks,

I'm sure this has been covered before, but the archives seem to be
having 'technical difficulties' of a fairly serious nature.

A guy who normally sends me <200k HTML emails, this time sent me a
whopping 1.5Mb email that had about 1.5k of text and a Winmail.dat.

I can see from snooping into the file it is created by Outlook and I
have asked him to deal with the problem.

However, I'd like to understand what this file is and, if possible,
how/why Outlook creates it and how to stop it.

Any tips appreciated.

Allister.
