Hm. I was browsing the archives a few minutes ago trying to find out
how to *make* GPG store (cache) my passphrase. Every time I sign or
encrypt anything, I get the "user ID and passphrase" popup along with
the "store in password database" check box that doesn't seem to do
anything (for me).

Maybe some kind soul could give an overall explanation that mechanism
and answer both our questions. <grin>
