The saga continues....
This morning my mailbox contained 84 messages and stalled at
message 68. This time I was running a spam filter called 'K9' and
it keeps a log so herewith is the extract from the 'K9' log at
the point of collapse!

Incidentally, whether the filter is running or not I still get
the same sort of problem. In this instance running the mail check
for a second time was successful.
I have TB's log set at 100K, that tells me nothing as it just
stops logging activity when the collection stalls.
Very frustrating, I wish I could get to the bottom of it!
