I've noticed the same thing in messages I have inadvertently "parked", but I doubt you would park everything in a folder on accident. Just in case, look for a little "P" symbol under the "P" column in your message list. You can also try selecting the messages and dragging them to your trash folder instead of hitting the delete button or selecting "delete" from the menu.
