My guess is that PGP is the favorite amongst most here yet I wanted to see if I can get an idea which I should explore first. A long time ago with IE like 2.0 or 3.0 I bought a verisign S/MIME key to fiddle with. MS cryptoAPI was a PITA and eventually I broke everything and blew the whole venture off..
Never have used PGP for any length of time although I have always had a great interest in privacy and data security and keeping the black choppers away. I've so far generated a few key pair and tossed some mail back and forth with a couple account to get the hang of it.. I'd like to stick with the internal implementations of either unless there is some flaw with that thinking..
