I don't know you well enough to know the filter doesn't exist.
And I was really interested in seeing such a filter.

I agree completely with your sentiments about all the junk that
precedes the content of many replies. I don't know how high my preview
window is (I just counted and it's 19 lines), but when I'm very busy
(such as the past two months), if I don't see new content in the
preview pane, I delete.

Moderators: Top posting was a deliberate part of my response to this
email. I'm very interested is seeing if it attracts a moderators'
"top-posting"  warning.
As for trimming, I believe my reply is relevant to the whole of the
original message. I've trimmed the salutation and any signature.
