You couldn't be more wrong, Vishal. I provide support and training for home-based PC users, 95% of whom are on dial-up around here. I can tell you that it doesn't make a jot of difference how they connect - the vulnerable ones who contract viruses and worms are those who don't or won't install or update their AV progs or Windows.
