Using SPAM as an example:
First off you need to create a plain text file that contains a list of
all the names, addresses, domains and strings that you want to reject.
Then open Sorting Office/Filters and select "Selective download"
Under the Rule Tab, give it a name and then go to the Advanced Tab.
Select the options you want the filter to carry out and right down the
bottom enable "Load signal strings from file" and navigate to the text
file.
Any SPAM that does make it past your list will be because it's not
included in the list. Just add it to the bottom of your text file. I
never did find a way to train it other than manually, unlike Bayesit
which auto learns.
I used to use this method and did have a couple of rather comprehensive
lists I used to filter on. They must be in a 2 or 3 year old backup on a
CD somewhere but I wouldn't know where to start to look. It does however
slow down the mail download process quite considerably but can be very
efficient if your list are set up properly.
HTH?
