If the bugs are ironed out, fine. My concern is that I don't see that anyone is even acknowledging the Base64 problem or working on it. I keep seeing messages to just set to post in quotable printable as if that will solve all the problems. However, I've done that long ago and it isn't solving the problem. My concern is that this is a low incidence buy and isn't even being looked at. > > I had used Calypso and Eudora & tried Pegasus among others but > nothing was as stable as TB! on my computer and the rest downloaded > mail from my then 17 accounts simultaneously, not consecutively. So far, if I switched to anything it would be Pocomail which has run without problem so far. I suspect I will move back to 1.62 of TB tonight and will run both programs for awhile. > > TB!'s multilingual spell checker and pure text handling > capabilities are things I wouldn't want to lose and the columns > feature is so unique that I use it instead of or in conjunction > with my word processors. None of those things are critical to me. That said, TB has other features that are important to me but I'm not sure yet how unique they are to TB. >Then too, the TB! lists are extremely > valuable sources of both TB! and computer info - and where else can > you get answers directly from the developers, the Selective > Download and the Mail Dispatcher? I agree the lists are very valuable. I am disappointed, however, that I can't seem to get a solution to the Base64 problem and I think that demonstrates that this is a true bug. FWIW, Pocomail has a web forum that has been very responsive to questions and has developer support. > So why would I want to learn a new command interface? I've been running TB betas for the past few years without a qualm. However, the glitch right now is very crippling for me. The messages I am sending to a variety of places that I post to regularly are going in Base64 and I can't tell in advance whether this will happen or not. That is more than a minor glitch or foible. It makes v. 2 unusable for me at this time. ________________________________________________ Current version is 2.01.3 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
