Well, the advanced text services thing has nothing to do with it. It's
the unicode setting alone that solves it.

The way I have set it up now isn't perfect either. Cause the problems I
had with cyrillic I now have with german umlauts. So a unicode bat sounds
like a good idea. But then again, who are we to use more than one
language aside from english ;)
