Hello Bat-friends*, I am attempting to troubleshoot a regular expression filter in Selective Download and I am wondering if I should see the results in the Message Dispatcher window. That is, if I have selected "Kill" for the filter action, those messages that have been successfully filtered will have their "Delete" box checked. Can anyone tell me if this is indeed the case?
This morning I upgraded my software to "CE", thinking that perhaps my two-month-old copy was simply not working properly. Unfortunately, that did not help. The "Subject" line I am attempting to filter appears as the 21st header line in the messages I am attempting to kill. Thus <none> appeared for the Subject in the Message Dispatcher window until I increased the "Message body lines to download with header" value in the Account Properties to 25. I am wondering if I'm having difficulties because the Selective Download filter only works on 20 (or fewer) header lines -- can anyone confirm whether or not this might be the case? Finally -- if anyone has successfully used regular expressions in their Selective Download filter(s), I would love to discuss the bitter details in this forum. I spent many, many hours yesterday reading the help and searching these and the tech archives and attempting to apply what little I was able to find there w.r.t. this issue, all without success. I do have 20+ years experience writing regular expressions for a number of utilities under various flavors of UNIX. But this is a new application to me and so the nuances of any special syntax rules The Bat! may require are more-than-likely what are escaping me at the moment. I am using The Bat! version 2.02.3 CE under Windows 98SE. I would be immensely grateful for any assistance with this! And my thanks to all who have read this far. -- Best regards, Constance mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * Probably everyone is tired of this reference to the old TV show, but it does seem appropriate. ________________________________________________ Current version is 2.02.3 CE | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
