Hmmm. Are you just saying this, or are you not realizing I'm referring
to the message list for view folders, or was it a typo? :)

Well, you can do everything via the main window.

A tabbed interface doesn't work that differently from a set of maximized
windows with the taskbar buttons or Alt-Tab task switcher to switch
between windows.

Have you tried working with multiple desktops? :)

I know these things are not everyone's cup of tea. Just outlining the
advantages of separate windows.

A list in the same window is nice since browsing a folder with the
message list always visible has its advantages. I work more efficiently
that way and can quickly see how I'm progressing through the message
list. I can easily discern who is replying to who as I read. Switching
back and forth in a tabbed setup would drive me nuts. :)
