I am using Read Filters - Sorting Office filters that sort messages to
specified folders after they are read. When I view the ticker virtual
Inbox, these messages disappear after they are read (as expected -
they're getting sorted).

But something happened tonight that really has me worried. I received
an e-mail message that would normally be sorted by a Read filter. Before
moving off of the message in the ticker virtual folder (like selecting
another message), I replied to this message.

Later, I went looking for the message that was sent. It was nowhere to
be found. Not in the appropriate folder dictated by the Read filter,
not in my Inbox, not in any Trash folders.

I performed a search on all accounts matching the sender's name with a
date after today (only today's messages) and still did not find this
message. I know that the message did, in fact exist at some point
because my reply to it is in my Sent folder, and the quoted text shows
the message I am looking for. So I know that I am not *completely*
insane.

The Bat was not closed from receipt of the message to when I noticed it
missing. Regardless, I do not purge or compress on exit anyway.

This message is GONE.

Anyone else ever experience anything like this? I'm really nervous
about this happening again. I may need to quit using Read filters.

I tried to re-create this by having the sender of the lost message send
me some test messages. I tried with only his message in the mail ticker
folder and again with other test messages from me (that don't get
filtered) in the mail ticker folder. I tried replying to the message
before moving off the message.

Very, very weird...
