I was under the impression that the checkboxes in the search dialog of Message Finder were inclusive (an implied "OR") so that checking both Recipient and Sender would find messages with the search string in either To: or From: fields.
This doesn't appear to be the case when looking for a search string in the Memo field. If I select Search Anywhere, message with search string in Memo not found. If I select Search Anywhere and Memo, message with search string in Memo not found. Only when I select Memo explicitly (only Memo checked)is the message with search string in Memo found. Why is this? When TB users asked about the ability to change the subject line in messages, the suggestion has been to utilize the Memo field. But it appears that if I want to search for messages that may have a key word in the subject *or* the Memo field, I will have to perform two distinct searches. That's a complete waste of time, IMO, and renders the Memo field nearly useless for recording a message's topic for later retrieval (when the subject isn't sufficient). Why is the Memo field treated different in Message Finder? Does the latest version of TB have this restriction? -- Ken Green Using The Bat! v1.62r on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 4 ________________________________________________ Current version is 2.02.3 CE | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
