Well, I've got the Christmas Edition running on my laptop. Thanks again to the people that helped me.
I've gotten really frustrated with The Bat at times lately - even bitchy. I was ready to give up on RitLabs and this e-mail client. I know there are still bugs and even some major problems. But just playing around with v2 is really, really cool. It's like falling in love again with an old girlfriend... ;) Yes, IMAP support is still kinda goofy, but it is WAAAY better than it was. I set up two IMAP accounts and the only "problem" I've had is likely due to my ignorance of what a "subscribed" folder really means. Somehow, in one IMAP account, I've ended up with two identical folders named Sent Mail. What I was *trying* to do was make sure the messages I sent from my laptop were getting stored on the IMAP server and being synched with both computers. I had to match up Sent Mail (local name) to Sent (server name). When I couldn't set the synchronization mode set - I would select one of the modes, but it wouldn't "take" - no matter what mode I selected, the folder would not change from Headers only. So I subscribed to the folder... Now I have two. I guess I'm confused about all the differences between synchronizing a folder and subscribing to it. IMAP stuff aside, there are some really nice features that have been implemented that seemed somewhat trivial at first when I read about there here. But actually experiencing them puts a big smile on my face. I am sorry for the people that have had problems with the folder views, because it's so nice to utilize that feature. I set up a view I like for message lists. Then created empty folders with that folder view. Then I imported the Unix-style mailbox. I pulled a total of more than 22,000 messages into 6 new folders - all in about 15 minutes, without a hitch. :) Having those messages show up in the new folders, and having them ALREADY be displayed the way I want, and threaded by reference the way I want, made me want to go back to my desktop and export more messages. I couldn't believe how easy and convenient it was. I really like version 2.... -- Ken Green Using The Bat! v2.02.3 CE on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 3 ________________________________________________ Current version is 2.02.3 CE | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
