I have most definitely gone through it and still consider it on a
semi-regular basis. I always try to keep up. One big thing Becky
has going for it is the advanced programmatic customization.

In general, Becky does not match TB in features, but as a programmer, I
am tempted to use Becky's wonderful API to add those things I do need,
or just download one of the very many customizations other developers
have written.

I have quantified the other differences between TB and Becky which I
find important and for which TB is generally superior across the board.
It is available in a terse spreadsheet, on the yahoo groups becky list
and on the semi-official becky web-based forum at mickeytheman.com.

My only other considerations at this point are the now open source
client Phoenix (in the preferred Delphi, like TB) (which I would fork
and customize), or possibly a client from scratch using a combination of
Delphi and an pervasively embedded language such as Python or Lua.
However, I'd be rather surprised if either of those things happened.

Still, TB is the best for me currently, and has been for some time.
Like Ultraedit, it is sometimes clumsy, but ultimately superior.

I know what the competition can do to become much better competition,
but that does not seem to happen, or happens too slowly.
