The problem with this is that you do not have a history to roll back
to, for example, you delete some vital messages from the message base,
but don't realise for 1 day. By then, your backup will have been
over-written several times.

I use 12-Ghosts Backup for things that I need a history of.  You can
set items to continuously back up, creating a copy once a minute,
hour, day, week and month.  This means I have a history of revisions
going back as far as I want.  This could be difficult with a complete
message base (unless you have a *very* big hard disk), but you could do
it on a particular account or folder.
