The folder is on HD you say. Is it there as a subfolder of another
folder, then that's where you should look.
When it's just a folder immediately under your account and it isn't on
the matching place in TB then the only thing left is the magic
key combination <Ctrl><Shift><Alt><L> (search for lost folders) while
you've got focus on the folder list.

I realize that this doesn't answer the question where you screwed up,
but it does some damage control.
