I just posted a similar mail to TBBETA (if you're receiving the beta list read mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) Short summary: PNG is optimized for images with *low* pixel randomization (screenshots, web graphics). JPG is optimized for images with *high* pixel randomization (scans, fotos - that said, if you have a photo background for your desktop and make a screenshot of your desktop, it will be smaller as JPG, of course). Make the test yourself: create a screenshot of TB's message window, save as PNG with maximum compression, then save as JPG with 85% quality. -- Best regards, Alexander (http://www.neurowerx.de - ICQ 238153981) using TB! v3.0.2.5 on Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 It's frustrating when you know all the answers, but nobody bothers to ask you the questions. ________________________________________________ Current version is 3.0.1.33 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
