So, I restore my TB backup, then go to Ritlabs and download a fresh install?
And when I set up a fresh account, it will then recognize my existing
(backed-up) accounts?

Communincating via my ISP's webmail is a challenge! So thanks for you patience.

In that case I suggest that you restore it with Restore4All or
whatever its restore component is called.
Install TB and when you're being asked, choose to setup a new account,
point it to the correct mail directory (which doesn't have to be in
one of the silly default places, but can be everywhere, I usually
advice to place it on a dedicated mail partition) and enter as name
your old account name. TB will recognize it and take over its
settings.
