Thanks for this suggestion. At the TB site I couldn't find any back
version later than 2.12.04 so I downloaded and set that up. Heart in
mouth and without uninstalling 3.98.1 I installed 2.12 in a new
folder. Everything seems to work, it found my old email; the only
glitch was the loss of some options and and all my filters -- a minor
price to pay for A MAILER WITH EXCELLENT FEATURES AND NO SERIOUS BUGS.

You can't imagine how long I've been looking for that -- years. The
only one I know of that I haven't tried is OE.

Some minor bugs are still (already ...) there in 2.12.04 -- F4 doesn't
quote the selected text, Alt-L usually requires two clicks to left
justify, there are probably more. But all of the following are gone:

1. Unable to use clipboard reliably on Win 98.

2. Clickable links don't work with Firefox.

3. The 'sorting office' cannot be used to create a filter -- it goes
through the motions but no filtering ever happens. AFAIK there IS no
filtering office in 2.12 No loss ...

4. When you right click a message and hit 'reply to address' you get
the same list of options AGAIN on top of the new message.

And, V. 2.12 is substantially faster than 3.98. I mean, a LOT.
Everything seems instant. Even downloads seem faster, tho I don't see
how that could be.

I suppose there must be some features that are missing, but the only
thing I've noticed is the icons are different and a little harder to
figure out.

What is it with developers that they keep adding features while
dirty-ing up (rather than the reverse) product? Pegasus was the same
way -- the higher the release number the more bugs.

I wonder if the key for V 3.98.1 will also 'unlock' V 2.12.04?

Thanks again ...
