> Ok I will try that. OK this below was written before Peter's last response to the list but I hadn't sent it yet.
First I tried the way you said with one folder. It worked! (I made a new place in the directory tree just in case.) I should mention... if you make a new empty folder, it doesn't have those 2 files in it. I just copied the 2 files from the copies that were in the original subfolders.. I didn't have to delete files in the newly created subfolders as far as I can remember.) (Needless to say, I have a backup of the folders that are messed up. I also have the bat set to do backups. I could just be restoring most of the stuff from backups.) Then I got more daring and decided to try just putting the subfolder names back into the bat without doing any copying of files. At first this seemed to work. It asks if you want to make a directory when there is already a directory. I said ok. Then when I got to the 7th and 8th subfolders, nothing showed up even though there should have been stuff in the folders because there were those 2 files in the original folders. I thought well maybe it is because those mails had been deleted or moved, and the folder wasn't compressed. but I tried to do it again. I forget if I did it the way you said or the way I was trying to do it. Anyway this time the 8th folder came back but the 7th folder did not. So that would seem to say it was not because the mails were moved or deleted. Otherwise the 8th folder wouldn't have come back on the 2nd try either. I went through all the folders and got them all back except the 7th folder mentioned above. I have tried a few times to get it back and it won't come back. (Well as far as I know i got them all back... because I have to go by memory.) I do not know if there are any missing emails in those folders. Just that each folder got mail put back in it when I recreated it in the Bat's folder pane. I don't know if there is any problem yet like mails with the wrong subject or duplicate copies etc. I was just glad to get them back. I am not really sure yet how to read the files in the folders because they have garbage or code type characters in them. (to see if there should be files in the 7th folder or not) Should i be reporting this problem of all subfolders going missing as a bug somewhere? I am now afraid to manually move directories in the bat because after I did that was when I lost these folders. -- Best regards, Brenda ________________________________________________ Current version is 3.99 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
