Just FYI, the AT&T mail servers have gone to SSL for both outgoing and POP3
traffic, and AT&T have sent many messages indicating that they will shut
down ports 25 and 110 at some unspecified time in the (implied near)
future. Before seeing the reply to you I suspected that this could have
been the problem...
