Dear Goos, @16-Mar-2009, 10:32 +0100 (16-Mar 09:32 here) Gunivortus Goos [G] in mid:[email protected] said to Marck:
>> As it happens, it does affect the actual. The so-called "Signature >> delimiter" is really called a "Cut Mark". It is the point at which >> signatures are cut off for an orderly reply. G> This is remembering me for a question I already have a long time. G> Is there any contra-sign, that recovers the situation from above G> the delimiter? Not that I know of. I use Ctrl+Space to invoke an alternate top-post reply template that removes the cut mark, includes all original message text and place the cursor at the top, above a non-delimited signature. G> I used to write f.i. a P.S. below my signature. (If above, it G> wouldn't be really a P.S.). While that's true, anything below the cut mark is deemed expendable; anything above is part of the main communication. There are many ways in which email does not emulate a written letter. The P.S. is a concept that doesn't fit well, often working better as a follow-up message rather than hastily added below the sender sig. -- Cheers -- //.arck D Pearlstone -- List moderator and fellow end user TB! v4.1.11.6 on Windows Vista 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 '
