Hi Maxim,

I just just going to use a backup utility to back up My Documents (the
Windows folder), and I realized that, with my TB mail filed under My
Documents\The Bat, there is a GIANT file called IMAP.log_1 which is
around 264 MB!! I was shocked at its size. It accounts for about
25% of the size of my total "My Documents" folder, which has many
subfolders, going back into the early 1990's.

Then there is an IMAP.log_2 at 44 MB, IMAP.log_3 at 30 MB and
IMAP.log_Msg at 125 MB. The total of all these four files is over 460
MB. That is almost half the volume of my "My Documents" folders and
subfolders.

Is there any way to reduce the size of those IMAP.log files? What is
their function(s)? I might add that I use IMAP with Gmail and the
number of messages there is smaller than the number I accumulated
formerly with Gmail's POP system, which generated only around one
tenth of the IMAP account volume in KBytes.

Since I am now using Thunderbird for my primary GMail IMAP account
(until TB's IMAP function is rebuilt/improved), I checked the total
disk volume for its IMAP mail files - 90 MB, or only 20% of the volume
for the same files with Gmail. I have no idea why Gmail's IMAP files
require five times the volume of the same IMAP account in Thunderbird.

Any help here would be appreciated. Thank you.

 Bob
