TB  uses the From address for the selected account, the only time it's
using  something else is when you override that or when you're mailing
from a common folder.
Probably  the  default  has been selected in the account properties as
"Use this account as the default for mailto URLs"
 (Account -> Properties -> General)
Try to disable that.
You  also  might try ti configure the account to use the smtp server and
e-mail address for one of your other accounts.
The last solution would be to move all of the folders belonging to the
disposed  account to a common folder (or a folder belonging to another
account) and delete the empty account.
