I don't know about other email clients, but assume that the names do
not show.

As to an easy way to maintain a separate list of groups that you send
to, you just create a separate folder for each group, and then simply
select the group as a whole when you click on the address book icon at
the right hand end of the BCC line.

You can put any person's email address into multiple folders as
needed.
