Does the new version work, except for not having your friend's message base and personalised settings, filters, templates, etc? And presumably says it's a trial period if the licence key isn't entered? Which version is it? (Help | About) > He, of course, knew nothing about the program. Had you connected the two computers together? Do you mean "copy" rather than "move"? > It wouldn't let us do that. What wouldn't let you? Something on the old or the new computer? Were you signed into the new computer as a user with restricted rights, or without write permission where you wanted to put the files? (Don't know Vista's terminology but in XP that would be a "user" as opposed to an "administrator.") > I had brought a flash drive with TB! 4.2 on it to > install on her computer as a trial. Not sure why the installation program would be looking for a drive other than where it was, where you told it to put the program files, and where you told it to put the mail folder. > When we tried to uninstall The Bat! that her tech guy had installed, > we were unable to do so. Something wouldn't let us. How did you try uninstalling? Add/remove programs? Did you try rebooting first? Did you try Safe Mode? And back to the question about being logged on as a user with restricted rights? Did you try Safe Mode? > It also called the program it wouldn't delete by some name using a > non-Roman alphabet. Make sure to log in as an Administrator (or whatever Vista calls it) and try again. Failing that, try Safe Mode. Try installing to a location you know you can write to. Failing that, google for "ICACLS" (sans quotes)... Remember if a newer version of TB! a new licence will probably need to be purchased to use for over 30 days. -- Best regards MFPA Put knot yore trust inn spel chequers Using The Bat! v4.0.38 on Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 ________________________________________________ Current version is 4.2.10.0 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
