Rock on. Put this requirement in JIRA please and get it assigned to a
release :-) 

It should go without saying, but there should be a test that uses a 1.4
runtime to start the server that verifies that it fails in clean manner.
The server classes will be version 49 in TC 2.5+ so one can't add code
that does the 1.5 check there (duh)
