The Intelligent Systems Centre (IntelliSys) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is working on various R&D issues in sensor networks and cyber-physical systems in order to develop impactful applications for large-scale deployment in Singapore.

CENSAM - Continuous Monitoring of Water Distribution Systems - Cyberinfrastructure for CENSAM 2. Future Urban Mobility - Cooperative Perception for Situational Awareness and Vehicle Control - Congestion-Aware Routing - Coordinated Allocation of Resources for Optimizing and Analyzing Urban Traffic - Intelligent Analysis of Ubiquitous Data - Smartphone based Prompted Recall Survey We invite promising candidates who are keen to pursue PhD studies under the SMA Graduate Fellowship to join our team : Responsibilities : * Pursue PhD research on a suitable topic under the co-supervision of an MIT and NTU faculty. * May spend up to 6 months doing research at MIT. Requirements : * A Masters or Bachelors in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, with First Class or Second-Upper Class Honors (or equivalent). * Good GRE and TOEFL scores. * Must be able to gain admission into NTU for a full-time PhD degree programme. * Interest to do research in one or more of the following areas: sensor networks, cyber-physical systems, distributed systems, embedded systems, wireless and mobile ad hoc networks, vehicular networks, participatory sensing and mobile computing, ambient intelligence, cloud computing, middleware design, sensor data management, simulation, performance evaluation. * Strong programming skills in C/C++, Java, etc. * Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Desirable Attributes : * Great interest and desire to be a productive researcher. * Previous experience in developing system software. * Innovative, resourceful, and self-motivated. * A team player with good people skills. * Strong verbal and written communication skills.
