Wireless sensor networks collect sensing measurements or detect special events, perform node-level processing, and export the combined data from their sensing nodes to the outside world. Sensing, processing and communication are three key elements whose combination in one small device is instrumental to pervasive computing and gives rise to countless applications. This workshop will provide a forum to exchange ideas, discuss solutions, and share experiences among researchers and professionals from industry and academia. Papers describing original research on both theoretical and practical aspects of sensor networks for pervasive computing are solicited. We particularly welcome submissions that present implementation and deployment results. Particular topics of interest include, but are not limited to: - Data mining in sensor networks - Data management in sensor networks - Mobile opportunistic sensor networks - Cyber-physical systems - Sensor-based systems and applications - Operating systems for sensor networks - Middleware and software tools - Networking architectures and protocols - Data gathering, aggregation and dissemination - Topology control - Power management and energy-efficient design - Time synchronization - Location management - Sensor networks with mobile elements - Cross-layer architectures - Intelligent sensor nodes - Security and dependability issues - Modeling and performance evaluation - Measurements - Internet of things Important Dates: - Paper Submission Deadline: *April 20th, 2012* - Paper Acceptance Notification: *May 16th, 2012* - Camera Ready Due: *May 20th, 2012* - Conference Date: *August 18th, 2012* Submission Guidelines Papers should present original research and should provide sufficient background material to make them accessible to the broader community. In addition, we solicit papers from practitioners describing problems and experiences building software tools for Sensor Networks. Full paper submissions should not exceed 8 pages in LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) Format<http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html>.
