This is a further increase of 3.6% over the previous record in 2010. Preventing a further temperature rise is the biggest challenge of our time. The ICT sector is a relevant contributor to green house gas emissions and global warming due to its tremendous presence in our everyday life but also a key technology for the fight against global warming in all other sectors. ICT-Glow 2013 addresses the following issues: ,,* Energy efficient ICT (hardware, software, processes, platforms, etc.),* Energy efficiency through ICT for other sectors (transportation, buildings, production, etc.),* Energy aware and energy efficient agents (humans, organizations, etc.),* Adaptation to climate change and resilience,* Environmental informatics,,The Third International Conference on ICT as a Key Technology against Global Warming (ICT-?GLOW’13) aims at providing an interdisciplinary scientific forum for in-depth discussions on the reduction of the carbon footprint in the different sectors including ICT systems itself. Emphasis within the ICT-sector is laid on holistic and far-reaching approaches for green and eco-?friendly solutions.
