This is why I've left OpenOffice.org (just naming a few):
- http://office.microsoft.com
- http://docs.google.com
- http://www.zoho.com/

The MSFT Office, OpenOffice.org and IBM Symphony are not competing with 
each other, but rather to the online and free office versions. This is 
why web2.0 is so famous; the ubiquity has reach everyone of us. We just 
need a browser and an online connection. The next wave; mobile versions.

You could always argue that someone need some special features that the 
offline versions couldn't offer, but get real, the average John Doe just 
want to share docs and make some nice texts and spreadsheets out of it. 
It's not rocket science anymore.
