If you follow me on twitter, you've might just heard that I'm at The
Next Web conference, in Netherlands, here with Celso, representing
7Syntax. We've arrived yesterday afternoon in Amsterdam, after a quite
and nice flight. We're sleeping on the Loyds Hotel, suggested by the
conference organizers.

First of all, the hotel sucks, never come here. Sure they have free
wifi, but the rooms are awful and the breakfasts bad - except for the
chocolate muffin. Just after checking in, we've went to "downtown",
where's the restaurants, to eat something, and just before midnight we
were at the hotel, checking email and twittering on the lounge, with
some Greek guy. Half an hour later, David Petherick
(http://www.infinitumsoftware.com/twobile
) just showed up to mingle with us for an hour, and what a great talk
it was. It was nice to know him a little better.

The Next Web - Day 1
Here's my review, following the agenda:
- Registration
   Quick and easy

- Let’s start with the end: Can Internet make us immortal by moderator
Erick Schonfeld
Very visual presentation, it was alright but not impressive

- Keynote: Adeo Ressi "Get Funding for Your Dream"
Very insightful, with nice VC tips, tacked a lot of notes

- 6 Startup presentations Moderated by Yoav Leitersdorf
I've missed a few, since we're at the mingle zone, poking some
startup stands

- Keynote: Gil Penchina CEO Wikia talks about “Giving insane levels of
control to your customers”
Boring keynote, nothing new, but I've wondered about their business
model

- Coffee Break
  That was coffee ?...

- Keynote: Khris Loux CEO and co-founder of JS-Kit; “Web 3.0 or Web
3D?, The Decentralization, Disaggregation and Democratization of the
Web”
Another boring keynote, just skipped this one to check another
startups stands

- Keynote Discussion: Scott Rafer & Kevin Rose “Inside look at Serial
Entrepreneurship”
Nice talk and interview of Kevin; I've just asked him what was his
advice to young startups and entrepreneurs

- Lunch and Expo time
  Bad, bad lunch

- Keynote: Leah Culver Co-founder and Lead Developer of Pownce, a
social messaging application.
Well, Leah was american, so it was "awesome" !!!!! TNW joke, since
she repeated that word until exhaustion. I've just counted 21 times
and Andrew Scott, from Rummble, which was in front of me, just
twittered about it and we had a great laugh
(http://twitter.com/andrewjscott/statuses/782127172
)

- 6 Startup presentations Moderated by Barend Van den Brande
Got one question to one, Wakoopa (yeah, I've missed their name when
I popped the question). They have a software for developers (but not
only), which is installed on PC/MAC and monitors the most used
application on your computer and delivers some stats about that. So,
my question was wondering about the monitor to software licenses,
since from their application to "the evil" is a small step

- Keynote: Nova Spivack “Making Sense of the Semantic Web”
Bullshit bingo. First I've heard Web 4.0 and 2.0 expressions

- Beer & Expo time!

- DIGGnation, live recorded from Amsterdam!
The chaos on Amsterdam and on the conference! Everyone gone nuts
with the beers and Kevin appearance, but it was fine, very, very,
relaxed show with swearing along

That resumes the long day we've had. We're now in the Hotel lounge,
again, for some mingle before going to bed. If you want to follow me,
watch me twittering: http://twitter.com/vd
