advocates camp out tonight in downtown Minneapolis
Hello everyone
Margaret Hastings and a group of advocates for the homeless are
camping outside tonight on the south lawn of the Hennepin County
Government Center. I went by the site this evening.
There was a small group of people and a couple of tents and
signs. I realize that the point of such a camp out is to tough
it out in the elements just as the homeless do each night
but if anyone feels inspired it looked like they could use
tents, food, water, music, light (Biffs?) and your presence.
They will be presenting a petition to the city council
tommorrow to call for the revocation of the Minneapolis
City Ordinance that makes it illegal for homeless people
to sleep outside or in a car.
