Its not a surprise, they did pass a ban on studying a busway on parts of
this corridor in a previous session. That's why the current study is
focusing on LRT/DMU transit options.

What I find amusing is that Rep. Holberg, R-Lakeville, also authored HF570
earlier this session:

Authors: Gerlach, Wilkin, Atkins, Holberg, Wardlow

atest&session=ls83

Section 1. [CEDAR AVENUE BUS TRANSIT WAY; APPROPRIATION.] $5,000,000 is
appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of
transportation for environmental studies, transit improvements, and matching
funds to federal appropriations for the Cedar Avenue bus transit way between
the Mall of America in the city of Bloomington and the cities of Eagan,
Apple Valley, Burnsville, and Lakeville.

So, I guess in her reasoning its OK for northern Dakota County to study a
busway to the Mall of America, but its not ok for southwest Hennepin County
to study a busway to Minneapolis. Wow.
