The east-west bus way is a problem because it is an isolated plan. It is
not part of an overall transportation plan. It would make a lot of sense
in a grid plan as opposed to the spoke/wheel plan that we now suffer.

I sold my last car in 1987 and brought up two children traveling on the
bus. I rented a car or used commercial air, bus, or train for vacations.

I had to go downtown to get to the kids school functions that were about
three miles west of where I live. The bus line on Lowry went near their
schools but only during working hours. It didn't run in the evening or on
weekends. The other end of that bus line stops at Rosedale where I like
to shop. Again I had to go nearly downtown to go to Rosedale in the
evening or on weekends. The evening schedule exists now but the weekends
are still blank. That is only one example. There are more painful
examples.

A grid pattern for transportation would allow us to go many more places.
Of course rush hour bus to work are heavy to the two downtowns. Anyone
wanting to go anywhere else bought a car. They could not depend on buses
to get them there and back.

Unfortunately, the Cedar bus way is not part of a regional transit plan.
It is all there is.
