[TCMetro] FW: Protest Library Closures

[Ann Treacy]

This list has been awfully quiet for a while. Although the following really targets Minneapolis specifically I thought it might be of interest to a broader audience. I think if the closing of libraries goes unnoticed in one TC location the other library systems will think about trying it too.   Does anyone have any good ideas?    Ann   Ann Treacy St Paul   -----Original Message----- From: md [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Saturday, August 09, 2003 6:08 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Fw: Protest Library Closures     ----- Original Message ----- From: md To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, August 09, 2003 5:59 PM Subject: Protest Library Closures   Does anyone have ideas or interest in protesting the week long closure  from August 15-Sept 1, 2003 of all the libraries in Minneapolis?   Some form of protest seems necessary...   pickets?   read-ins?   puppets from In the Heart of the Beast?   What can we do to make the point that a week without libraries is a week without knowledge, without learning, without community?     Madeline Douglass Librarian Kingfield
