Hi Carol, I think you hit on the cause of that particular problem and the correct solution. :-)
A more foolproof way to set pagination at a book level is to NOT specify whether a file must start on the right or left unless it's the first page of a chapter and has to start on a specific side. In your example, for everything in that chapter after GettingStarted_frontpage.fm, use the 1st page option called "Next Available" on the pagination window rather than specifying right or left. You can only set that pagination option from the book level, not within individual files. Then the only place that you should get any sort of a blank page will be at the end of the last file in that section. I hope that helps.
