Carla, I've also been learning XML via self-study recently. I'm using the XML Bible<http://tinyurl.com/yzbf34>by Elliotte Rusty Harold and am finding it to be very helpful. It was written in 2001, so it may be a little bit dated, but it's a very easy read and comes with a CD with a bunch of data files to help get one started. I'd be curious to know how the Weekend Crash Course goes for you when you get through it.
