Hi Shlomo,

I really appreciate your regular input on PDFs.

Do you have any tips for those of us creating PDFs from Flare (via
FrameMaker)?

I've noticed that the Flare-produced PDF bookmarks are inconsistent from
project to project and I'm not yet able to detect any pattern. In
iterative imports and PDF generations for a FrameMaker book, I noticed
one PDF had bookmarks for all heading levels. Another added numbered
steps to the bookmarks.

Any ideas (other than tinkering with the Flare-produced FrameMaker book
and manually generating the PDF rather than allowing Flare to do its
automatic PDF generation from its generated FrameMaker book)?

Thanks,

Pamela

For FrameMaker->PDF projects, this is indeed possible through a single

TimeSavers hypertext marker, placed on page "1" -- see

http://www.microtype.com/improvePDF.html for more information and a
sample

file.
