I spent quite a bit of time scanning the cover and about 37 pages of a bound manual for my portfolio. I am using the Canon CanoScan 3000F scanner with the CanoScan Toolbox software. I started the task on Wednesday night and did not finish until almost 1 a.m. Thursday.
The tool scans each page and saves it into a separate .BMP file in a directory whose name is derived from today's date. ......You see where this is going? When I had scanned the last of the pages I wanted, I clicked the "Finished" button instead of the one for scanning another page. At this point, the utility should go through and make a PDF from all the individual .BMP files it had generated. It blew up, and offered to report the problem to Microsoft. Thanks a bunch. When the dust settled, I looked into my directories, and found of course that there are two separate ones: 2007-04-04 and 2007-04-05. Can anyone here advise me on how to take a series of .BMP files and craft them into a PDF? --Guy K.
