Hi everyone, Last year, I attended a one-day leadership seminar that was simulcast to sites all over the U.S. and abroad. Another one is being held this year on Friday, May 11. This year's theme is The Influence Index: Increasing a Leader's True Value. More information is at

The speakers are very motivational, and attendees range from business people to recent college grads to housewives. I really enjoyed listening to John C. Maxwell last year, and he's scheduled to be a speaker again this year. Terry Bradshaw (former Pittsburg Steelers quarterback) is one of the speakers this year, too. I like listening to him. He's nuts! You can sign up for free newsletters from some of the previous and current speakers through http://www.maximumimpact.com. Most of the simulcast sites charge less than $100 per person, and that usually includes lunch. I found one near where I live in Michigan that's $50 in advance or $60 at the door. That's not bad for a full day. The site that I attended last year had books and other items for sale. I was hugely impressed by John C. Maxwell's presentation last year and bought his book called The 360 Degree Leader, which talks about influencing people all around you. I liked Mark Sanborn and will probably check out his book The Fred Factor from our library, if they have it. That book is based on Sanborn's mail carrier Fred who was incredibly enthusiastic about his job and who left a very good impression on everyone. Sanborn encourages everyone to "Be a Fred."
