She works for the Dept. of Transportation (Highways) _as_ a landscape architect but had to obtain the degree on her own nickel in order to qualify for the transfer into the job. I'm looking now at online options for a master's in technical communications for myself. Just to have it in case some day I want to hang out my consultancy shingle.
