Last week, Dori suggested I contact the SBA about my i3D venture.Yesterday, I met with a woman from SCORE (http://www.score.org), the Service Corps of Retired Executives, which is a resource of the US Small Business Administration (http://www.sba.gov). If you are considering starting or already have a small business, I encourage you to contact your local SCORE office. They have a lot of resources on their website, but they also have volunteer retired executives who will meet with you and advise you as much as you need, at no charge.
There is a small business seminar next month that I am going to attend (there is a $45 fee for that, but it's the only thing they charge for, and looks like it will be more than worth the price). My counselor, Jean, also pointed me to their business plan template. It is 31 pages and contains over 150 questions that I will answer and then craft into a flowing narrative. When I am done, she will review it and make suggestions for improvement. They have several other templates for businesses and a variety of other resources on the website. Today, she called me to say she had contacted someone she worked with for 30 years, who wants to meet me and see a demo. Nothing like an inside contact! And now, I'm off to work more on my business plan. I'm on page eight, so I have a ways to go! Hope your week is going well. :) Lisa G. ______________________________________________ Author Help files and create printed documentation with Doc-To-Help.
