My best friend Rhonda's new husband forgot to turn his cell phone off during their WEDDING CEREMONY. I was standing up there taking pictures and I hear a phone go off...we are on a beach so I figured it was someone elses...next thing I know there is Henry with a very sheepish grin and Rhonda with a very well...sheepish ain't the word for the look on her face! Thank God he DIDN'T answer the phone. I really had a hard time not bursting out laughing. No one in the audience even realized it was his phone...turned out ilt was a lost wedding guest! I do have to admit that moment made for a great wedding picture! :)
I was also at another friends funeral last month and heard about three cell phones go off. There are definitely times and places for cell phones, but weddings and funerals are not them. I think the big issue with people addicted to their cell phones, is that sometimes they simply forget to turn them off, making for very awkward social situations.
