I've received some comments and recommendations offlist. Thank you all!

One person asked what I meant by "staging". The document control system
won't be in place until the end of the year, but they don't want to wait
that long to start getting the procedures and other documents organized.
I'll be placing them in a wiki environment, and then they get the document
control system in place, they will move the procedures into it.

I will check with the quality manager to see if I can get a list of
specifications, too, which I know would be helpful for anyone who wants to
answer my question!!
