Hi Aaron, Personally I am in favor of the GPL or the LGPL for the library. I don't really care (nor know) about the difference between version 2 or 3 so I would suggest to say "version 2 or later" so that we keep compatibility with most GPL software.
On the GPL versus LGPL subject, I'd probably go for the LGPL so that proprietary softwares are welcome to use and modify the library without having to release the source code of their application.
