Hi all...
A middle-aged female student in my Sociology of the
Family course wants to read about the mother "married" to a particular child,
regardless of gender. I have referred her to literature on the
narcissistic mother, the micro-managing upper middle class suburban mom, and the
Oedipal complex, but I sense she is looking for something slightly different --
the mother who keeps a child tied to her apron strings to replace an absent or
empty marriage. Any non-clinical, "readable" suggestions? This woman
is Hispanic and I believe is particularly interested in that niche.
